Thread: How many razors in your rotation?

I have about a dozen straights (Clauss, Torrey, Boker, Henckels etc) and I still keep using my plain jane Union Cutlery Spike every damned day. Me and that razor just get along.

I have two, but use only one, with the second one kept as a backup in case the primary one gets damaged.

48(?), 49(?), but who's counting. They are all my favorites, the hardest part of shaving is picking which razor to shave with.
OK, so today I'll use the Torrey, no, the other one, I mean the John Williams, no, no, no, let's use the Frederick Reynolds, no, I mean Joseph Rodgers & Sons........

I think I need more razors!

I have 4 straights 1 shavette. 2 DEs & a GEM SE. I use the DEs for the back of my neck between going to the barber. And the shavette for when i feeling lazy or im in a rush. And the GEM for fun

Most of the time 6 or 7 but i every year arount november i begin use the whole collection. 31 dec im ready and begin again whit 7 razors most of the time the new ones.

13 out of 30 are ready to go and the others are almost there ... i find myself only using the same 5-6 though

Why would one need to use a DE for clean up after using a straight? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of using the straight in the first place? Maybe your razors are not keen enough or your technique needs more work.

I have 10 Straights and 3 DE. 4 of the Straights are 5/8", I use them on work days because I'm faster with that size. On my days off, when I want to enjoy my shave, I use my 6/8" razors. I only use the DE razors (maybe 10% of the time) when I'm running late for work.

I honestly don't know anymore.
I'm quite certain it is more than I would ever need..
Razors are fun though, so who knows, there might just be a few more out there that I would eventually want to get.

I had three. I gave my duck to a friend, so I am down to two. I will be back up to three whenever my SRP Logo is done.
