Thread: How many razors in your rotation?

This would be one of those threads that could make you think....
Enough to make me do a quick head count.
Shave ready - 33 - including 3 Feathers/Clones, not counting DEs and those awaiting honing/restoration.

A thread by Glen/gssixgun got me interested in using the same razor every day, so of course I thought I would try a version of that. And about the same time I was trying the Feather in search of something that I could take on the check a bag length trips - and it takes a few days in a row to get the hang of them. So of course I set up a spread sheet to keep track of how long the Feather/Kai/Dorco blades last. And I just keep using it.

The SRP RW shows up and it becomes the "Razor of the week" (8 in a row...)
And I can now contemplate culling the remuda - something that was unthinkable a short while ago.

I also know it will be painful....

14 at the moment, and a couple waiting for me to get time to fix them up.
I try to keep it at about 14-15, that way I actually get to use every razor

I have about 20ish straights, but my usual rotation is:

Dovo BQ 5/8"
Dubl Duck Dwarf 5/8"
Henckels #401 5/8"
Wapi 5/8"
AlCoSo Solingen 6/8"
Douglas Cutlery Wedge 6/8"
Boker "Unrivalled" 5/8"

I have 30 and use 2 each month. Shaving every second day and replace one / month.

I keep 14 or 15 ready to shave but w/o any hard fast order.
As an aside, I once used the same razor (Champlin) for four straight months using only linen and leather between shaves. This experiment was not all that painful. The worst part was the thin-fine hairs sliding under the blade. The last month required stropping during the shave. I don't recommend anyone repeating this rather silly test.

I used to have about 5 or 6, but I had to give that up because I couldn't recall which one needed stropping or honing or whatever. Now I basically use 1 until I'm bored of it, then I will switch to another. Usually about once a month I switch it up.

I have 2 Dovos, a Cowlishaw Pearl, a TI Sheffield Silver Steel and a Dubl Duck on the way. And yet, I keep thinking about a Hart...

I have nine, 7 straight, one kamisori and a DE.

3 razors, 1 trimmer & 1 mimizori. Only seem to use one razor mostly.
