Thanked: 485I say it'd look extremely badass, but then you have the hassle of the strop, room to move, etc. Maybe a DE shave at the gym?
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

I havent shaved at the gym exactly. Last time I was in afghanistan we had a 20 sink 20 shower cadillac set up. We were only allowed to use it 2 times per week, so when I had my chance to use it, I did it up big time. Hung my strop and everything. I had a few gawkers and alot of questions, but mostly just that look of WTF is that dude doing over there. LOL. I say do it if you can manage. Give people something to talk about at the very least.

That's true for *us*, but I'm not sure it's true for *them*.
While shaving with a straight has been a near-daily part of my life for a number of years now and as such is just what I do, I think most people do see what we do as weird, insane, dangerous, cool, stupid, badass... take your pick.
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Them = those who are unfamiliar with the concept of straight razor shaving being a normal part of life.
And whether one cares what people think does not change the reality of their reaction. I don't care what people think about my shaving with a straight either. But that doesn't mean that people don't have a reaction to the idea. And that - in the context of a thread about shaving in a public space - is what I was saying. If one chooses to shave with a straight razor in a space such as a gym, one should probably account for the high probability that it will precipitate a reaction.Last edited by Cangooner; 06-23-2013 at 12:43 AM.
