    Default Shaving in Public

So my wife says, "Then shower at the gym and leave from there!" "But then I'll have to shave there too, and I am not sure they'll appreciate that." Says I. "Moreover, I am not sure they'll be all that pleased if I pull out my straight either... I guess I could shave the night before."

Any of you bring your straights to the gym? Any of you shave period at the gym? Is this a bad idea?

    Any story's?

No story to share but people can be so weird. I don't want to sound old (I guess Ill have to), but people today are content to jump off of a bridge with the full confidence of a nylon cord to save them from a dirt nap but freaked beyond belief of shaving with a straight. They will bungee jump, sky dive, even drink cheap liquor, but are afraid of a good shave. I say go for it and let them riot if they can't handle it.

You never know, it's probably a good way to make converts! I say go for it but keep in mind it won't be as peaceful with an audience doing Q&A.
I shave because I want to, not because I have to!

I would do it, why not? They might bother you with questions about it though.

I use to shave at the Swimming pool in the AM but that was pre SR. Id say if the gym is kinda calm at that time go for it but i dont know if I'd wanna shave in a high traffic area?

I go to therapy pool four days per week. The sink area is cramped and not a good place to do anything except wash hands. So, until I find a pool bath with more room I will shave at home. Trying to apply a blade with a bunch of men my age tottering around would not be a good decision.

Always be aware of your surroundings!p

I used to go to a gym once and I used to see a guy shaving there(normal cartridge razor), and to be honest I found it a bit weird. I mean yeah there are sinks there so you can clean up and stuff and dry your hair using the hair dryers provided, much like a swimming pool...but shave there? I dunno, I am a pretty open minded guy but this just seems inappropriate to me. You wouldn't shave anywhere else just because it is possible would you?

I know in that gym I went to there was actually a sign asking people not to shave there so I guess I was not alone in my views. I hope no one takes offense at what I say as it is only my opinion of course, many others will disagree with me but there ya go. Anyway like some of the other guys said, people will just be annoying you with questions etc and it's just not an area which lends itself to a comfortable shave I know I like to be alone and in peace when I shave as it is more relaxing. Just my 0.02$ as they say

Personally, I wouldn't. However, I've seen blokes at the gym washing their balls in the sink -- no word of a lie!

Shaving, even with a straight, is normal compared to that.

There's nothing wrong with keeping your golf balls clean.
