Two vintage Russian straights for restoration, and a Remirol 5/8 Sheffield recently purchased from the classifieds. Stoked!

Phrank, I noticed a Chubby 1 in one of your pics. Obviously you like it or you probably wouldn't be buying a Chubby 2. I'm very interested in these brushes. They look so dense. Do you use it with your mugs? It isn't too short? I primarily lather in my g-12 scuttle or an apothecary mug. I do have a couple of smaller mugs that I use occasionally.
I'd love to here your thoughts/opinions about the chubbies..

I went to a shaving store here in Toronto and held the various Simpson's brushes and the Chubby 1 in Super Badger just felt great, very dense, huge backbone for that strength on the face I like while lathering, and it was the perfect size. I'm a face latherer, and it was fine in my Old Spice Mug, really works up a great lather and feels great. Tried one of my older brushes again, and the difference in density is apparent immediately. With a brush this dense, I've found I have to push the brush deeper in the puck to get the soap deeper into the brush, otherwise it was dissipating very quickly.

I just snapped when I saw the Simpsons Chubby 2 in the Classifieds, I blacked out and when I awoke, there was a receipt in my inbox....thinking this one might be a bit big for me as I face lather only, but we'll see.

Mens Essentials on Danforth west of Pape...be careful going there, LOL, they have a pretty big selection of soaps, some straight razors and strops, lots of DE stuff, and lots of brushes of all makes...Simpsons has a tall glass display filled with all the various models.
