my comment was directed to the buyer of the strop in post #2060. He just said it was produced locally, but didnt say where. Sorry for the confusion, must have hit quick reply instead of reply with quote.

Really like my Tallow based Tiki bar soap and wanted another. Saw a new scent, Star Anise by them and pulled the trigger. I love black licorice, so I'm hoping this to be a scent I really enjoy.

Also bought Saponificio Varesino Aromatic Fern. Mainaman ( Stefan ) had recommended this brand in another thread, and I saw they had it in Fougere scent so I got one of these too. I've also been wanting a fern scented soap so I thought this might be a really good one to get.

    Looking forward to using both!

After a strange trip across the pacific and lots of crazy tracking updates from USPS. My B-Day present from my son in Japan has arrived.

    First the packaging:

It arrived wet moldy and covered with some sorta grease. In a nice plastic bag from USPS apologizing for the condition of the package.
No idea what happened to it, but based on the tracking it shipped all the way to SFO and then returned to Okinawa and then back to Denver before delivery. Craziest thing I've ever seen with a package.

And the contents (luckily it survived).

I nice Higonokami pocket knife with an inscription on the handle and Father & Son in Kanji stamped on the blade.
    Love it.
