1 of the 7 is toast. Small chip dead center of edge, then cancer started creeing towards the spine. It appears there was a thin crack from the edge, creating an avenue for the water and rust to follow. IF if was just the rust, I'm sure I could fix it. However, the crack is all the way thru. Kinda hard to tell from the pics. But, you can see it in the magnified pics.

3 others looked like they tried chopping a tree down with them. Chips in the edge that turned into micro 'tears'. After completely removing the edge to good metal , surprisingly enough, they all took a nice bevel.

They others just needed the bevels reset.

6 rehoned and stropped up. 'Sunday' is the one with cancer, so I shaved this morning with 'Monday.' These little blades sure talk a lot !! All in all, I can't complain, as I fell I got them right.

    Here's the cancer patient:

Micro of the same: The crack is dead center in the below pic, heading towards 5 O Clock.

This is a little higher on the blade, still showing the crack. The thick black horizontal line at the bottom of the pic, is the bottom line of the center 'etching.'

Solo, Doc, can the cancer patient be saved. Or you gotta amputate?

I was afraid of that, after I took more than a glancing look at the first pic you posted. BUT, they were already in the mail. So me stating my assumption would have only rained on your parade before the set even arrived.

Why did I think this? Close observations of the pic originally posted, with no knowledge of the listing you bought then through. They look like they were gold washed on the tang & spine. Sometimes lighting and/or camera quality/settings can add or negate this tonal look. But, the jimps on the tangs had uneven tones of gold. This indicates that the gold wash has worn off on some of the razors, which indicates use. Monday, Tuesday, & Saturday have the most gold wash missing.

In the end, the most important thing is not what we think, it's whether or not you are satisfied with the purchase!

    Enjoy the shaves!

    It's a shame one of the 7 won't survive. It's a good looking set
