This ones made within 200 000 of production, and should provide, both the parts, and practice before tackling the main event..
    Cheers.

Mike - Glad to see that you were able to get what you needed! Those old Waltham's can sometimes be a booger getting the full plate pressed back into the jewels. Patience, lot's of patience! Best of luck!

    Thanks John, appreciate the tip.
The irony on this job, is the replacement part watch is actually running, whereas the patient is not currently. There are difference in that the donor is a stem wind and mines a key wind up, but based solely on the picture it 'looks' like the balance staff and cradle are identical except for the gilding.
Here's mine again for pictorial comparison.

Mine also seems fully wound and I need to determine how to unload the main spring before opening. Hope to learn enough on the donor to effectively replace what I need on Gramps watch.
Will be. Fun project once the snow sets in deep..
Any tips on main springs, or dual key pocket watch tear downs, gratefully appreciated gents..

    Default It's like Christmas!!!

Patiently waiting my arrival, like a newly adopted child, my very 1st custom SR was waiting for me when I returned from work today! Made by "Frans", it's reminissant (sp?) of an 1800's wedge, 8/8 in size, with stalilized scales. Also, included, was a brush handle (the High Mountain White brush is just setting in there for now, not glued in!)

Upon initial inspection, I am very pleased!!!!! 12hrs from now will be the true "test."

The razor and brush are gorgeous and I'm not usually a fan of the 8/8 looks

    Working on a watch?

Is there anything you cannot do, Mike?
