I have a Presto-Keen razor hone in the mail. I hope it's the same as the Presto-Keeno that has been favorably reviewed.
Thanks go out to the SRP member for who answered my questions about eBay. This was my first transaction on that site.

My first cheap learning strop Now I just gotta find a decent classified deal so that I can try a real blade over this Shavette someday.

Not yet. I have been curious about the earlier Craftsman, Pike, and Norton hones. I recently acquired a Pike/Norton combo hone, but the fine side was deteriorating. Lapped it back pretty hard and is now recuperating n some Vaseline.

The Craftsman feels very smooth. Feels finer than a Swaty, more like an Apart BH. I am currently trying to master my coticule, so it may be a bit till I get to the Craftsman.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Well, I ordered it last week, my Michael Waterhouse 15/16 Ebony French point & it will take 8-10 weeks to complete. When I wrote to Michael on here he told me he usually gets them out much faster than that so I am patiently waiting! I can't wait to get it as it looks to be such a "manly" razor. I may order a flat point after that to see which I prefer but I'm sure both would be excellent choices! I am also waiting on my disability so the razor isn't the only thing on my mind which is a good thing. It isn't overwhelming my brain but after what I've seen of them, I can't see doing w/o one!

    Lets see...

Brian Brown razor which has yet to be even thought about. A deposit only gets you on a waiting list (I'm told we can discuss the specifics sometime next Spring or so...). Michael Waterhouse delivers in 8-10 weeks??-Lucky you.

Zulu Grey stone. In the mail now. Week or so to delivery I am told.

Alessi shoulder holster for a 1911 CMD. 10-12 weeks

Gropener beer bottle opener. Coolest gizmo I have seen in some time. Shipping in a day or two.

Replacement power converter for a Klipsch iPod dock (warranty). Delivery scheduled for tomorrow.

....that's it for the time being.

I ordered mine, a 7/8 Square point with monkey tail June 3rd so not quite 8 weeks and I haven't heard anything - so I think he's spot on with the 8-10 week wait. So if he told you 8-10 weeks and he usually gets them out sooner that's good news for me, hopefully....

This is what Michael Waterhouse wrote me:

"While it's nice to have a full order book I always feel guilty when I have to quote long wait times. In reality they are often ready ahead of time but I'd rather be realistic than feel under pressure to finish. I don't work well under pressure!"

It will be nice to get it ahead of time but I would rather he take his time. I know it will be a nice shaver! Please let us know when you get yours CHRIS. I'm always happy to get something sooner than quoted, especially with quality work!
