I went to look at it & he sold it! Someone must have made him an offer he couldn't refuse. There must have been some nice razors in that lot!

I can't wait for my gold panning stuff to come in the mail.
Not shaving stuff at all. I might be finally done shopping for
that on the bay. It's quite a bummer how they made it so you can't
send them ya email asking for a upclose photo of the rocks they have.

I started by asking the seller to send me a few pictures of some of the razors and asking for information about them. We sent message after message back and forth for quite some time, really a nice guy. Then, on the off chance, I asked if he would be willing to do a BIN and since I was already the high bidder on the lot he messaged eBay and got the ok and sold it to me right then and there.

Oh good going. I was looking at the lot & there were some old ones in there. You got a good deal. I hope that Rolls has the handle in it. Just for the hell of it since I got one, I look at them when they come up & I have noticed a few missing the handles in them. Other than that, I saw some old razors in there along with that well worn W & B FBU & you did good. I have done that at times & asked if someone would be interested in a bin price. It never hurts to ask, the worst they can say is no. He didn't even have to message eBay. A person can end a listing early & sell to the highest bidder. Way to go!

I see the handle IS in that Rolls razor. That's great! On the flat side of the blade will be 2 numbers. That will be the year it was made.

I had to laugh at the one that says "WEAVER & SONS SHEAP WORKS"...................it really says W Greaves & Sons Sheaf Works! I hope you show some pics of the good ones when you get them.

I'm not much up on the Rolls razors but I did see that it is complete. I appreciate the heads up on the year stamp.

I know, right. That was one of the razors I asked for additional pictures of. The FBU was the least of my concerns with this lot as it does have a lot of wear and I doubt it would be more than a 7/8 after it is taken care of, but still.

I'll bet the Greaves & the Joseph Elliot are good ones & not worn out. I think those are the 1st one & the one to the right of the FWE. The FWE looks good. The 2nd one down is a good old one & so is the one to the right of the Rolls but that one has a narrower blade. The top one, 4th row is old because of the straight scales & the 3rd one down from there looks like a good one. The last row looks good. I never heard of an EXIMIQUE CAST STEEL so I'm interested in seeing that one. The Brammel/Werk I'm interested in seeing, it seems I've heard of that before or similar.

I'm not that much up on the Rolls either but my interest got me one day when looking at one. They have a built in hone in one lid & the lid on the other side is the built in strop. I thought that was very interesting. You will see when you get it that there is a handle built inside too for honing & stropping & when you go to hone, you have to be careful not to slam the blade into the hone but ya gotta do it really hard because when I was fooling around with mine I slammed it accidentally but it didn't crack the hone. I lubed the guard that is on the blade that will help it from slamming it into the hone. You'll see what I'm talking about. I did see one on eBay with a cracked hone. I have a spare blade with mine & it is a '35 & the other one is a '48. There is some guy from the UK trying to sell two Rolls from '27 for more than they normally go for. By the way, the handle to shave with is in the middle & ya unscrew it, slide it on the flat side of the blade & screw it tight. To unlock the blade from the hone or strop, flip the blade up twist & pull.
