The blade looks to be in excellent shape with some heavy pitting at the pivot. 7/8, it has a great shape but the toe is what got me to buy it. I can see it as the snout of some strange beast with nostrils near the spine.

Default It just arrived in the mail...

A new Hart Steel razor! The box is pretty snazzy and the deer skin pouch is nice as well. Cocobolo scales, selected because I've worked in Honduras. And Hart got the nod because it is an American made product. This will be the last big purchase for a little while. Now I have a two razor rotation which I'm sure will grow over the long haul (well I actually have three shave ready, but I don't count the square point it tends to bite). The big dent in my chin (dimple) favors a round point.

My first impression from Hart shave one, I like the Hart Steel razor. Nothing fancy in terms of adornment, it has the look and feel of a simple extremely well made tool. The scales are pretty and the whole thing comes off with an understated elegance. It certainly shaves nicely. It has just a little more heft than the Boker and I like that as well. The balance is very nice.

Yeah! Shaved with it right out of the box. Very nice. Compared the blade I've been taking care of since May with the brand new blade. They compare favorably, but the edge on the new Hart is slightly better. Gives me something to shoot for. I have some Ballistol on order for the blade maintenance as well. So I guess that is still in the mail :-). I'm a Hoppes guy, but everyone has great things to say about Ballistol and I don't plan to put Hoppes on my face.

I also ordered some Renaissance Wax on recommendation of people here. I thought it was a bit pricey for the little can. Now after using it, I see I have four lifetime supplies of Renaissance Wax. A little goes a long way...

    Best Regards,

    Ed

Nice, but pics and size go a long way in vicariously enjoying it with you.

Got this good looking german made 20mm synthetic from The Superior Shave. I already had a very nice shave, first impression feels a bit like boar.
