Yes, it came out a bit more medieval than I had originally planned, but came out well none the less

    Question

Use it or save it? Original NOS and predates the new company by at least 60 years, I have another Royall, antique, stoppered, hand blown bottle and one of the BayRhum:

Richard, what a decision to make !!....

If I had unlimited funds, I would say try to find a second bottle of each and use them.

I would absolutely use the BR in times of worth.
Must smell incredible if it was tightly corked all these years.
Very great score for a deserving gent.

I'd use it - if not you, who else? You'd be able to appreciate it for what it is, whereas someone else, coming across it one day may think it's old stuff in a bottle, dump the contents and keep the bottle or just throw out the whole thing....definitely give it a try, why not?

Looks like it would be a real treat IMO....
