It looks so good already. One thing, I really don't know how to clean the black crud off the blade. I'd use my Dremel like I normally do with some Maas but the etching isn't stamped into the blade like a lot of etchings. I need to research that.
Its only acid etched. If you hit it with anything you'll start to polish the matt areas and the etch will lose its definition. I'd leave it if I were you, looks fine.

That's what I was originally thinking.

Well... syntha 6 protein that got here yesterday, 1pt of General finishes wood turners finish, and 1 pt of aqua coat clear grain filler, can't wait to start working on hopefully two sets of fusion scales.
Mastering implies there is nothing more for you to learn of something... I prefer proficient enough to not totally screw it up.

Some brass rods and washers , a Semogue 1470 brush and some wood/horn blanks to get some practice in for making scales.

I also found a nice piece of 01 plate that is 5x16.5x.250". No idea what to do with it yet, but eventually I may come up with something. When it comes time to HT and temper I can have that done at work. Just need to let our furnace guy know so he can put whatever I make in with another job.
    So I drive a station wagon , what of it ? ( www.lxforums.com )

Ebay has the kits in nickel & brass! Just type in straight razor pin & washer kit in the search box.

I picked up some 3/32 rod from HobbyLobby. I ordered the 1/16 rod and washers from ebay.

Waiting on 1 and 3K Naniwa SS's, a 30X magnifier, and a handful of TOBS AS samples.
