Full credit for the handle goes to Andrew @harrywallymossy. I only did the knot, gents.. It's a functional piece for sure, for me at least, I'm 6'4" and have fairly large hands. I thought it was pretty comfy.
As the time passes, so we learn.

Thanked: 98Welp mail call came and the Kayser was in my box. Open it up and the scales looked good no major just box in better shape...then open the blade. Hairline barely visible crack about middle of the blade about midway up. Not a restoration specialist at all and pretty sure it's beyond repair. Welcome to any thoughts people may have. This was the best picture of the offending crack I could muster.

Crack or just a stain? Does your fingernail catch on the side of the blade both front and back? Just wondering.

Bummer. Leonard has been playing with silver soldering cracks. Guess it depends on how good it turns out and if you feel its worth the effort.
It's just Sharpening, right?

Damn sorry to hear that! If it was at either end then I can see doing some modifying to keep it shaving but right in the middle
Years ago my old Boy Scout Scoutmaster gave me his father's, brothers and brother in laws razors. None had seen a hone between 50 or 60 years or more and I found that with a good stropping they would all shave--not the best in the west but no tugging either.
Glen was interested in seeing one to do an experiment and he too found the same result. However after shaving it was then that he noticed a small hairline crack in the blade. I recall him saying he couldn't believe that he hadn't felt it stropping or shaving. Anyway the experiment was canceled. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdin’s cave of 'stuff'.
