I used the Fougere Sauvage this morning again. Same great lather as expected, but the scent is too subdued for me. As I have said before, the Limes & Bergamot have moved into my "Top 5".

2nd morning using the Orange Menthol with a straight.

    My thoughts:

Aroma - Deliciously orange. Menthol was light. Nice.
    Loaded the brush well.
    Lather was thick/rich.
    Good glide and cushion.
A refreshing (and almost BBS) shave.
Did NOT use any kind of aftershave afterward. The scent was still on my face, why spoil it?

I liked this one . . a lot of fun. I enjoyed shaving with it.

For those of you who haven't tried it yet, when you do, it's ok to think to yourself "Gee, I wish I could take a bite of this stuff".

I give it a thumbs up.

OK -- I said the other day this thread got me, because I love citrus smelling shaving products, but I have to say, I got the lime and bergamot from Maggard, used it today and it was as great a scent as I've ever smelled AND it lathered terrifically, and was slick and lasting for a 2 and 1/2 pass shave with NO problems. I love it! Literally, when I opened the tub I said wow. Brad, Casie and their soap makers deserve kudos for this one (and then there's their customer service)!

    Orange Menthol :
This one intrigued me the most. I'll hold off on commenting on this one so as to not step on Hogrider's thoughts about it.

    Lilac:
Just like redtruck mentioned above, it does remind you of a yard in the spring. Light scent. Have a feeling this one will make a regular appearance in the rotation soon.

Tommorrow I'll start with the Limes & Bergamot.

    More later.

I bought the Lilac but the wife confiscated it. Good stuff.

I used the new Maggard London Barbershop soap today. It is their first tallow soap in the line. I loaded my brush for 20 seconds and had more than enough excellent thick, slick, cushioning lather for a 3+ pass shave. I just worked the lather for about 30 seconds on my face for each pass. It has a great “Barbershop” scent. For me it is a coin toss so far between the Maggard Vegan and Maggard Tallow. The vegan Maggard Limes & Bergamot is now one of my “Top 5” soaps. I look forward to more shaves with the new tallow London Barbershop.

Stearic Acid, Coconut Oil, Tallow, Water, Lye, Glycerin, Fragrance

I had that in my shopping cart sunday. I eventually removed it an bought Lilac for swmbo simply because I have two other "barbershop" scents in stock. I did however buy limes & bergamot an Fougere Sauvage for myself. I know every one says the FS scent is to light but I want to try for myself. Very excited for the limes! Lince how does mags barbershop smell in comparison to some of the other scents already out there? I don't like the barbesol scent. An this is why I shy away from "barbershop" scents.

It is not a typical barbershop scent. It is more "floral".

2nd shave with the new tallow Maggard London Barbershop soap today. I used my Whipped Dog Silvertip this time. I loaded it for 20 seconds, and again, I had more than enough excellent thick, slick, cushioning lather for a 3+ pass shave. The Maggard soaps continue to impress me though, not to mention their great Customer Service!

Its been a while since I got the sample pack from Maggard, and honestly maybe its the brush I got a Hi-Brush from Omega, but I'm still using the first sample I opened. The 'Mango Sage Tea'. I like the scent, though to me it wasn't anything special (the scent that is). It reminded me of a really nice hand soap my grandma used to have in her restroom. The lather was awesome with both hot and cold water. But my dilemma is that I am an ardent minimalist, and having only one bowl to put the sample soap in means that I should use the soap up before I try another. That's how I'm approaching it anyway. Well I had expected the sample to last the 5 or 6 shaves but I passed that a few weeks ago. I'm on shave 12 or 13 now on the first sample and am maybe half way through it. So alas I patiently troop on waiting to experience more than the smell of the others. I should say another part of my dilemma is that I chose an order that I wanted to go in based on the ones I least wanted to use (not to say any were unappealing at all. But you have to establish an order somehow), to the ones I most wanted to use. So I haven't gotten to the ones I was most looking forward to.
