Richard’s (evnpar) impressions of Hemingway Accoutrements are excellent, so I won’t add a lot more to what he has already shared (https://straightrazorpalace.com/soap...ml#post1819554 ).

I’ve shaved 3 times with Hemingway Accoutrements, and enjoy the cream. Did I say cream? Yep, these sud's consistency definitely aren’t a croap—they are one of the softest I have used...very gooey like some of your wives’ facial creams.

In terms of performance, Richard nailed it with his observations. Not quite tier 1 but also not tier 2 either. The suds lather well (according to the website, the cream can be used with or without a brush) and have decent glide and cushion. With my shaves thus far, I’ve gone too thick with my mixes (operator error) so I’ve had some drying during the shaves, so I’d recommend starting with lighter loading and or with using more water while dialing in the cream.

One thing I don’t care for is the container size—wider would work better given the softness of the cream’s consistency. This observation is kind of nit-picky, but even a smaller brush is a tight fit. A snurdle, finger loading onto a brush or into a bowl, transferring it to a larger container, or etc. are good potential work-a-rounds.

Richard’s also on the money with the scent—won’t really go into this since these preferences are so subjective. I like it. The aftershave tonic is a good match and has around an hour’s post-shave longevity. The tonic’s grain alcohol definitely tightens and closes pores, and sort of gives an initial impression of skin drying, but after that sensation passes, the tonic does a nice job of skin moisturizing.

At around $80 bones (the site has a $10 discount), Hemingway Accoutrements suds and tonic aren’t cheap. However, in the past I’ve spent way more and received a lot less in terms of performance and quality.

Meisner Tremonia . . .

Gentlemen,

I had hopes for Meisner Tremonia Puristic Style and Pots of Milk, the brand's two unscented offerings, and am sorry to say that I am still unimpressed with this soap.

Earlier I had tried some of their fragrance soaps and set my Hollywood face on fire. Although the two soaps I have noted here did not torch my face, they left my face slightly irritated, more so the Puristic Style version. Both soaps lathered well, but that was the only thing that impressed me.

The face feel after the shave was disappointing — my skin felt somewhat irritated. During the shave, the Puristic Style also gave me a wee bit of a burn. The soap is described as unscented, but there was a hint of a fragrance that reminded me of the rubber from automobile tires.

I have had the soap as a Second Tier, but I am compelled to slide it into the Third Tier. As always, gentlemen, this is only my opinion. Yours might be different and that's fine.

Just tried D.R. Harris for first time.
Just a really great soap that gave me a wonderful shave. Took a second to dial in the water (thought I had it dialed in pretty quick, but took a bit more than H2O than I thought)
Totally grabbed this one off Obie's "First Tier" and once again WISE ADVISE from the
SAD SAGE!

You'll never go wrong with a D.R. Harris soap. I don't think I've come across a soap with as slick a glide as that in the D.R. Harris soaps. Love this soap.

My preferred scents are Arlington and lavender. The Windsor scent is popular, too. But Arlington . . . It has that homey barbershop scent that makes you grateful to yourself for wet shaving.
