They were all very nice when we called, but when they were to call us back it never happened. Not a big deal though as they have been busy because of this thread. One thing is when I mixed the clove with Alraz's bomb it suppressed the bombs ability to hold a moist lather. I'll try other creams and report back.
of all the creams to mix with.. i can't say enough about kiss my face.. it's super slick and lovely.. and rather inexpensive.. pick up a squirt bottle for $7 at whole foods or trader joes.. i know they also have a smaller tube available for less the price of the larger pump. unscented is probably best.. but they have vanilla, patchouli, rose, peach, lime... quite a few actually... and it's also available at Men's Shaving, Grooming, Skin and Hair Care - West Coast Shaving

    cheers.

I ordered the Rosewood and the Eucalyptus. Tried both (once each) and here's my first impressions.

Rosewood - Love the smell and have no trouble getting decent lather, not great lather, just decent. And what the heck to they color this stuff with? Pink foam floating on the water after the shave? It's a keeper in my book.

Eucalyptus - Smells like eucalyptus. Only bought this because I use several soaps that contain eucalyptus and it helps my aches and pains. Can't get it to hold a decent lather but havn't added anything to it. Probably will use it for hand soap just to use it up.

We could start a whole new thread imbedded in this one about what we do with our extra shave soaps. Mine usually become hand or bath soaps. Waste not, want not.

I'd have to agree, but to compare this soap to a higher end soap and say it's as good is simply misleading. I'd have to venture to say that the shave soap received no R&D, just their body soaps (I have no doubt they are good for the rest of the body) with shaving soap scents & shaped into a puck. I say this because I have used a few of my wife's fancy body soaps to shave with before and they acted EXACTLY the same. Mr. Thomlinson, you are an excellent spokesperson for Soaptopia & should be getting your shaving soap free at the least!

thanks... i fully agree.. this isn't the best soap out there.. and it's way out done by other soaps costing just a small amount more... i did try shaving with their vanilla body soap and it shaved great.. i was originally told that the shave soap was the same as the body soap.. just cut into pucks.. that was later corrected.. they are different.. the shave soap does need some improvement.. if that ever happens.. i'd be glad to have my freshly shaved face on a poster in their store.

oh.. and on a side note.. their body soaps are good stuff.. i have a load of small slivers i have been going through and i love the smell and feel.. it's a nice change from the drying effect i'm used to from using dr. bronners liquid soap.

I started with kissmyface and loved it. I've since fallin in with MWF, but every once in awhile I use my vanilla kissmyface. I think it makes a great, thick, long lasting, moisturizing lather that has a wonderful aroma. My local coop carries it as well, so that makes it a little easier to come by than ordering MWF from England.

Back on topic though. I know soaptopia soaps have been found to be less than best for shaving, but I would like to invite soaptopia to use this feedback, and this community to experiment with different formulations of their soap. Here is a resource that can really give you the feedback you need to rise your soaps up to the best of the best. We know you are an open friendly company, please don't abandon us because we found your new soaps to not be as good as shaving soaps that have been established for decades.

Whew, haven't made it back to the thread in a while. Thanks everyone for your comments -- we're reviewing them closely. We've been learning a LOT from the forums here and really appreciate the fervor about shaving and quality products!

Had to share a bit -- sheesh, Scott, a bit harsh, no? We know we have some opinionated gurus around here, but we also know that different folks like different kinds of shaving products.

We formulated our shaving soap with great care and testing. We've found there are shaving soap people, there are lotion people and there are people who like to combine the two. Our shaving soaps veer a little to the lotion-y side to caress and care for your face. The oil content may not give some aficionados the super thick lather they're after, but many find the balance more than worth it!

Were also thrilled you find our soap affordable! It is part of our mission to make sure that high quality all natural products are available to everyone. They shouldn't be a luxury! Inexpensive does not = bad quality!

Please keep the comments coming were really enjoying hearing about your experiences.
