Huge fan of the Arko stick... It's my go-to for travel and I have yet to find a brush that doesn't play well with it!!
Now, the Arko Ice Mint cream.. while it lathers well, it lacks any hint of scent or menthol.. that one was a disappointment. I am going to squeeze it out into a tub and try spiking it with menthol crystals---------------------------------------------------

i have been putting off using arko since i started this shaving addiction.....dont know why...i used it and its great! what a great soap...inexpensive and easy to lather up. really a nice item...doesnt give that expensive type smell but it reminds me of a potent ivory scent. might be my favorite shaving stick.

And the TSA seems to let them pass when in a kit with a brush and tossable.
I have seen a 1.7oz travel size of Bigelow (aka Proraso) that I almost pulled the trigger on.
I recommend both.
Keep an eye out for travel sizes at good prices. Refills and travel sizes may be the best
way to try a variety of shave soaps and creams and stay in budget.

Thanked: 580Arko stick is possibly the most under rated soap out there, when i first used it, i melted it into a mug, now i use it as it is meant to be, soften in hot water, rub onto bristles, and create face lather from there. Try this method, and you won't be disappointed.

You get hung up from time to time chasing a really luxurious shave focusing on brands like MDC and others that really do deliver the most spectacular lather. But Arko is SO undervalued for its performance. I just did an old school shave today with Arko and one of a pair of twin Bengalls that I rehoned yesterday. It really is great soap and performs right up there with many of the top names. Finished with a splash of bay rum and its a great shave.

Thanked: 2Ewww that smell but it lathers so good, is slick and travels well. The positives definitely outweigh the one negative

Agreed, Arko stick is most likely the most under rated soap out there next to Cella.
If you have not experienced a good face lather you don’t know what you are missing.
Quick and easy, and all of my brushes hold tons of soap for multiple passes.
As for the smell, I love it. Retro maybe but refreshing.
But I do have a question.
I don’t want to pack Arko into a bowl, to me that’s sacraligious,…I still want to face lather so how do you re wrap the stick?
Do you have a special container or do you simply re wrap in the original packaging until completely used up?

Thanked: 3225Roal
I suppose you could do it either way. For a container you could re-purpose an old screw up deodorant container, Arko molds easily like putty to fit, put it in an old prescription tube or get a vintage shave stick container. There are also containers from craft stores available that screw up.
