If only I could have stopped at just MDC but alas, SAD and CAD settled in and now along with my RAD, BAD and HAD there was STAD. I'm Paul and I have a shaving problem....The good news is I don't think there are any more soaps and creams out that I either don't have or haven't tried.
Why did I not buy more of LaToja before they folded up?

Thanked: 1I have heard nothing but superlatives about MdC!!! I get that you can buy it online from France, but can you get it locally? Somebody mentioned that he purchased some from a member here. For the record, I'm interested to buy if there are takers. I too want to be one of the folks with glorious reviews of what sounds to be Superman's shaving soap from Krypton.
Cheers,
Milan

Thanked: 1195I bought a glass jar from a member via the classifieds. It was a one-off thing; he decided he didn't use it that much (actually, it was barely used ) so he put it up for sale. There was a seller awhile back who was an "unofficial" North American MdC vendor (as in he bought a bunch of jars and sold them off individually), but I'll be damned if I can remember his name or site. Unless someone else can help you out you're pretty much at the mercy of international shipping

I sold my glass jar last October (though I can't remember if it was here on SRP that I sold it) but I have since purchased the same in the wooden bowl. I haven't regretted using this fine soap. It really is a gem of a soap!!

Just tried Martin de Candre Soap for the 1st time..Wow!
Budweiser claims to be King of beers, a claim that crosses the border of lunacy.
Martin de Candre is King of shaving soaps, and that is a factBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

I remember the first time I used MDC. A member had an extra wooden bowl I bought off him. I heard the hype, and have been down that road many times. This soap actually lived up to, and exceeded the hype.
I hope this one is around for years to come. It's in a class by itself. An excellent shave soap.We have assumed control !

Thanked: 18Today was my first shave with MDC. I have to say I own between creams and soaps a total of 43, so I am not easily impressed. I swirled my brush over the top for just 20 seconds, and I took it directly to my face, the lather just exploded and did 2 stellar passes. Overal all, I'm very impressed with this soap, I am going to use it a few more times in order to be entitled to say it is the "king of soaps"

All this talk about MdC makes me want to buy some but I'm afraid my sensitive skin can't handle it. Does it have a strong scent? My skin can't handle any of the strong scented English shaving creams.

Thanked: 18Well, if your skin is extremely sensitive you can buy the unscented version.
