    New Years Work out.

    60 minutes Aerobic, Weight machines of all types, about 30 minutes and free weights for bench press flat and incline. No heavy weights, 15 reps in sets.

    After, I ate like a pig. Oh well.

    No workout today. Recovering from yesterday. And I have a bit of work to get done. I plan on pushing the board along again around the same 8km course if I'm up early enough. If I'm not, I plan on giving the pushbike a spin again. That'll be a 30 km course.

    You were speaking of Motivation earlier in the thread. Mine is staying alive with a decent quality of life. I include in my quality of life enjoying food and drink.

    About an hour and a half of indoor bouldering today. Sent a few problems, flashed one and did some traversing for endurance...

    Did my 8km Skate today. Got the course done in shorter time today. Skills and confidence increasing. Although I'm still chicken on the one decent 20 metres of downhill...It's got a curve right at the bottom that if messed up, has the potential to put me over a concrete buffer, into much oncoming highway traffic. Anyway, I have heard of a new skill I should learn to would decrease the walk factor and increase the board time. It's called Long Distance Pumping or LDP. It's a technique, or a variety of techniques that look rather retarded in my view (But no more so than I currently look when I'm out on my board ), that looks in one variation, much like someone dry humping the air while gliding sideways. The benefits, arguably outweigh the downside though, in that it is more of an all over body workout with a focus on core strength, and, and this is the bit that has me sold, you can use it to skate UP hills. Given that most of my area is fairly flat, and the tracks for the most part are so rough as to give a well lit surface of the moon sort of feel in places, making skating a hard slog on the poor old legs doing all the work alone. I figure it may just be a useful skill obtain. It has the possibility of making longer distances in the same current time a reality.

    Aside of the stretching, what condition are your running shoes in? May be time for a new pair. A few years back I started running again. The pain was pretty bad for a variety of reasons, but one of them
    was that I found I didn't have the proper shoes for my arches and gait. I went to a locally owned running store and was fitted for the right shoes. After that, no pain. I keep a running log with my miles. That
    and the setting in of soreness lets me know it's time for a new pair of shoes.

    First workout in almost two months, so I'm starting of a little easy with a 10 minute cycling warmup, follwed by 30 minutes with free weights and some stretch excersises.

    Two hours of bouldering tonight indoors. First indoor bouldering session for two weeks, and it seems the outdoor climbing I've been doing has had benefits, as even though I FELT flat I was actually quite strong. Still got a sore tendon in one finger that's bothering me, but I feel if I train holds that don't require that I stress it too much (i.e. what we call 'slopers') I may be able to train around the injury.

    Feeling very positive about my fitness at the moment after a bit of a down period over the last few days, and it feels GOOD!
