This is a great idea and video is essential to learning the proper techniques.

My contribution will be HD video of how I use a CrO pasted balsa strop.

    Count me in.

I hear you. Still, it looks like a wonderful collection is gear.

OK Chaps, gather round and prepare to be amazed.

One thing that helped me with learning to strop was developing timing and rhythm. So I got to thinking: metronome. Thing about a metronome is, you can speed it up as you need. So you can treat it like going to the gym, with speed as weights. Once you can do 20 reps easily at a certain speed, up it by 5bpm or so and go again, like how you increase your lifting weights at the gym.

Anyway, that is the theory. So here's a little vid of me using a free metronome app on my smartphone to maintain a good rhythm during stropping.

Well.. I have no metronome, and i still have greasy fingers from eating Doritos... But I just HAD to make a quick StropTober vid to celebrate the completion of "Laz' Roo Strop MK I"

After several weeks of staring at the hide to try and figure out the best way of cutting it, i bit the bullet today... swigged a beer... and just cut it up.

Seems to work fine! I love the feel of the .8mm roo hide!!

Default Here's my first stropping video

Here's a quick and dirty vid I made this afternoon. Not my finest work, but it does show the basics of how I go about stropping my razors.I'll be putting up a few more as I get more time towards the end of the month.

Default Blooper Reel: Jimbo Cuts His Strop

Despite my reputation as a master of stropping, honing, shaving and everything straightrazor related, I still have my moments.

The following is an out-take from my now world-famous metronome stropping video, where I demonstrate that a rush of blood to the head is not the correct mindset for safe stropping. I took a very nice slice out of the strop at the hand end by trying to strop too fast.

Watch, and learn from the master!

EDIT: The cut occurs at around 33 seconds. It may be easier to see if you watch it in the 720HD resolution on the youtube site, or in full-screen.
