I had the same problem when i sprayed mine I dabbed them with a paper towel as i was spraying the felt. Worked great. BTW you don't need to saturate the felt.

I do it a little differently now. I lay the paddle flat on the table in front of me instead of angling up against my chest. I also put the handle on the side away from my body. I guess I lay it more like people place a hone. I hold the razor in my right hand and use my left index finger as a guide just to make sure things are flat and even. I strop away from my body then back towards my body. I'm still not stropping very quickly though.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Just on another note: Has anyone had any success with the Premium IV English Bridle pad? I find it so hard and with little draw that I'm wondering how I should use it.

A word of advice. Take it easy on the diamond spray .5. Someone mentioned it earlier in this thread, but I did not listen and licked 10 or 20 strokes. It was not much, but that stuff is aggressive. Dulled it.

Had to start over on the hones after over doing it with the diamond paddle. Lesson learned.

Think I am going to crox next. That's the beauty of the paddle.

To me, most of the leathers on the paddle seem to have a little less draw than when used on the hanging strop because the paddle is so rigid. I do find that the same number of strokes produces very similar results as when using the hanging strops though on all the different leathers.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

    Just an FYI.

Next time you take one over on the pastes or sprays with .5 diamond, don't start all the way over on the hones. Either go back to your finishing stone or to the 8K and do your regular process from there. This will usually fix you back up.

    Have fun,

    Lynn

I have to tell you all the Horsehide pad is fantastic. Nice slick draw. A great addition to the SRP Modular Paddle system.

just received my modular strop & all i can say is that it makes stropping so much easier being a newby. a very clever piece of kit. i think this is an ideal opportunity for one of you seasoned vets to make a demo vid.

    Default Good price too!

Perfect for travel, when you travel with a regular hanging strop, you have to make sure you don't bent the strop, you have to hang it to a door knob or another hanging object. The price is very good for what you get. Juan.

I have experimented back and forth with horsehide and i think my shave is a little smoother using the horsehide. Also I like the slick draw when stropping. Good luck with it and you won't be sorry.
