OY!
Gentlemen, Gold Dollar threads always give me a headache. Please remember this genteel parlor and leave your top hats at the door.
By the way, I once honed a Gold Dollar and then shaved with it. Two sins in one day. Since then I’ve led a holy life.

Thanked: 13This seller on other forums has a good reputation for having wickedly sharp shave ready GD. I wish him luck in his endeavor since this is a vendor thread and Not a lets talk about the razors thread. I personally have not tried his razors so I'm not singing his praises but I think if you haven't tried what he sells then it doesn't seem right to bad mouth him either. On the other forums that mention him the individuals Have tried his products and I know them personally and I for one believe them so like I said Good Luck VENDOR.........

Ok John maybe not as classic as ya,ll are thinking, cause I really wasn’t trying to be derogatory, I was simply stating that I don’t care what you want to shave with, I don’t have nothing against RSO,s and Chinese blazes, it’s your choice. What I disagree with is why even consider it? Ok it’s 4$ and then it’s going thru this transformation and hear we go 25$ later I still have this very non quality razor, and I have had many 15-20$ razors come thru my hands that would surely be a better investment.
Yet his guy isn’t the only one who takes advantage of new guys when they start. It’s been going on for a long time, yet the new guy doesn’t know what he’s getting or if it truly has been reworked. So and further more, the numbers tell us that all the GD guys who bought them in the beginning have moved on to a better quality razor or razors. There not many who bought one or many years ago and that’s still his go to razor. Tell me I’m wrong, cause our threads are full of the guys posting their vintage and customs, facts not to be disputed.
Now to address the short novel that seems to be the norm from this member and I’ll do it in a lot less words,
I’ve had many of these razors in hand and on stones, you can’t even think you’ve done something spectacular to these razors with terrible scales that will convince me that I was mistaken, remember my real question that prompted you to issue a challenge, I say again WHY? Why would I waste my time on these when there is so much more out there that isn’t an RSO to start with. WHY? Per your price special I assume you charge more if there’s not a pandemic at large, but even at 25$ I can get a razor in better working order that doesn’t need the geometry fixed and scales replaced and then honed, one of our members said it best, condition is everything when buying a razor.
But they do make a decent set of wind chimes, not quite as soothing as the old German full hollows but it does make noise. You assumed wrong that I was trashing them, I just won’t never understand WHY?
So challenge accepted, and you won’t have to worry about getting an honest assessment, most will tell you I don’t have a filter from my brain to mouth, plus and this isn’t taking a shot at you, but in my world you don’t mean anything to me so I could care less what you think about my report f your razors Pm to follow
Oh a John, next time a clown gets out of line I’ll give you a proper show!“ I,m getting the impression that everyone thinks I have TIME to fix their bikes”

Though I am not a newbie and have dozens of backups, I have never tried a GD, though I've been meaning to for years. I've been wanting to try one of these newer improved versions I've seen you and others discuss on B&B, and it will give me a chance to try your famous "method" edge in the bargain. I just ordered one, and look forward to giving it a whirl! Thanks-SHD/Aaron
