Good idea! Make the hutch sectional and break front,so the shelving can be moved more readily. Usually a move will allow a viewable wall to be used, Mine didn't... place is too small.
Enjoy the design process and build! Keep us in the loop to see what becomes, Please!

Yes, FME, you should make it 'expandable'.
The old 'When I fill this up I am done' thing never seems to work!

Many years ago the company went from the traditional 'time cards' that you literally punched in and out with with these new fangled plastic cards that you slid. Well corporate's bright idea was to punch a hole in each card and hang them from cup hooks. However if there was any paperwork to be picked up by an employee it would get skewered onto the hook and it was a mess.
So my boss asked if I could build something that had pigeons hole (boxes) that the cards could be kept in and paperwork simply rolled up and inserted. I said sure and drew up the plans to hold 98 cards which was way more than we had employees and the boss ok'd buying the material and he simply scheduled me the time off to build it.
I got it installed and the boss said "Looks great, we'll never use all of those". A few years later we expanded the store and departments and I had to build one that was about half that size to hold all of the employee cards.
Then they went with employee punch in numbers and the cards were discontinued and both pieces I'd built were tossed in the dumpster. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Thanked: 4207Arrived from Manitoba quickly so I was eager to give it a quick polish.
It’s a little un.
But so far, salvageable and worth a deep clean.
Got the leveling stone for $20 as well, same guy."Depression is just anger,, without the enthusiasm."

There was THUNDER in the Boars Nest's Garage This Morning
After several setbacks (including weather too cold to bother trying to heat the work area) and a few other things I got my Harley put back together enough to start it.
What a sweet sound to hear after so much time had passed.
Looks like I got everything done correctly (which was worrisome as the bike has assemblies like I've never worked on before) but no fuel leaks, and no oil leaks and the oil leak was the reason for the tear down.
On thing I've hated to use for years and years are worm drive hose clamps as they are just butt ugly! Especially when there is a 'tail' sticking out an inc. Oh they work but they are still ugly.
I picked up some of these to use to secure the new fuel line and they look just like OEM. Well I did get a bit anal and polished them up since they are SS.
All I need to do to have the bike road ready is to finish cleaning up the air cleaner and mount the seat. It's supposed to warm up a bit more so maybe it'll be test ride time in a day or soOur house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

I picked up this Hess #2 recently and did some work on it to get it in shaving condition. It came to me with warped scales and stained, slightly rusty blade. But, I got it for a good price as far as Hess goes, with little to no hone wear. Seems you don't see many #2's? Nice deep red translucent scales, just warped.
Here's how it started...
Warped scales...
Bent pins...
To straighten the scales I more or less followed Glen's wiki in the library, and some of the subsequent posts in a couple other threads. Just working with what I had I boiled each scale for 15 seconds and the carefully clamped to a flat piece of wood, placing the clamps where they were needed most, then let it cool. I had to do one of them twice and overcompensate with a popsicle stick spacer to get the bend out.
They came out surprisingly straight! I was pleased with it.
Here's the finished product all honed up and ready to go.
