Nice work gents, the bone scales are wonderful. Everything is coming together nicely.

Really nice projects happening here guys. Mike, the George Rohr really turned out something special. Great work on the blade/domes/wedge and then the RezDog scales are spectacular, paired perfectly with the rest. Neat project and great collaboration between two very talented craftsmen.

Thanked: 4206Mixing up another couple rubbersets, didn't like the last results..
And tinkering with an old pocket watch with a broken balance staff.
See the broken nib central-ish to the picture. Dang these parts are tiny!

I think this will be my go to method for hard rubber scales in the future. I’ve used steam in the past and it just causes too much oxidation. I put the scales in a nice flat skillet and leave them on low for 4 or 5 minutes. As soon as they start to feel rubbery I take them out and press them against the back of a DMT under cool running water to set the shape. It’s fast, easy and the scales didn’t change color.
These are going to go on a Joseph Rodgers that I restored last year and forgot about.Last edited by BeJay; 11-11-2017 at 07:10 PM.
