Outback--I just shaved with a Shumate Barber exactly like yours this morning. Just a quickie before a meeting but I had a great shave.

If I can get the chips out of the bevel, and honed up in time, I'll shave with it tomorrow after work. That and if my beard has grown out far enough. That Buck Bros. I shaved with Sunday, shaved real close. An excellent blade it is. [emoji6]

Even though I had a super shave yesterday with that Donovan I had enough neck stubble growing to wear on my dress shirt collar so I had to shave again today. The Shumate just happened to be next in my rotation for a shave and she performed great with no razor burn or nicks. Another thing I noticed with my Shumate is when I honed it last she was an easy honer and keeps an edge very well.

The blade moves a bit on the pivot, and occasionally the toe catches on the wedge. So I'll remedy that with a little trick Sharpton taught me, with a blade from a coping saw.

First, flatten the teeth that protrude from the side of the blade, so it wont cut into the scales. Place the blade between the scales, and saw the wedge back to allow clearance for closing.

Mike, I have done the same with a small skinny file. Great job though! It seems I have also done it with a hacksaw blade. I still have a couple razors that are doing that so I don't know if they may have shrunk a little. I forgot all about an air tool I have in my toolbox which is a reciprocating saw & could be done if very careful. I'll need to dig those razors out & give it a try................maybe. I'll try it on some broken scales that still have the wedge in 'em.
BTW, I tried to reply to your pm but your inbox needs cleaning. It wouldn't let me post because of that so I sent to your personal email.

So I get home half full of coffee and got 5 or 6 projects on the workbench I am messing with between sneezes. Lots of hand filing at first to keep quiet. When my nose starts running I jump on the grinder. Helps to have an automatic drip system keeping things cool. I don't get sick very often so I am going to relax and enjoy this one. Get some razor stuff done between naps.

Can't grind until I find the filters for my respirator again. Amazing how much power is behind a sneeze.

    Take plenty of Vitamin C...........
