    If you can come up with a good pairing, there is not a prettier razor than those. Display it with the blade open, slather the scales with silicone, the blade with TufGlide. They are quite rare in good nick, I think!

    I'll find it. I have a box sitting 3 feet away from me full of straight razor's I was getting ready to look in there. I think it is in there in a factory box too!

    I received a 5/8 DOVO Best Quality for 'honing' as soon as I looked at the blade I knew that it was going to be more than that. I contacted the owner and explained what I had and what I believed caused it and I have his OK to fix it.

    Looks like it's going to be an interesting Sunday. I didn't care about showing the blade just the light under the middle so as to show the Frown;

    That's a nice rare George Brittain Anchor razor, date range I've read for them is between 1780-1810 IIRC, those aren't original scales are they? Nice razor...

    So far No Fun, No Fun At All! Taking the frown out is easy, getting a good set bevel has been 'shall we say Interesting' I've taken many chips and frowns out but for some reason this edge is not 'Co-Operating'.

    I've set it aside as it was getting frustrating and I don't like to work on razors when I'm frustrated, I like to enjoy it.

    I'll give it another go either later today or after work tomorrow. I do like to provide a fairly quick turnaround.

    Thanks Phrank,
    as far as I can tell they are all original steel dome washers & brass pins & lead wedge

    I didn't remove them for that very reason, I did want it altered or to screw the washers
    hence the scales are slightly warped still at the wedge

    I have seen a W&B & a Rogers I think was with similar scales

    thanks for the dates I had it between 1787-1840 also
    so for around 200 years old I am happy how it come out considering its previous neglect

    I chased a GB for over a year until I finally found one, I think they are great shavers, almost mystical in how old that steel is. The one I have, came with the original leather pouch and rather large, cylindrical coffin box as well. Razor in the pouch, pouch then into the coffin box....
