Thread: What are you working on?

Have a couple of project going
1. Flea market find, couldn't say no. Need cleaned and ploished with a couple needing scales.
2. Fixed blade and slipjoint folder, just roughed out today.
Target for both projects is finished by the month is out.

I didn't remove them for that very reason, I did want it altered or to screw the washers
hence the scales are slightly warped still at the wedge

I have seen a W&B & a Rogers I think was with similar scales

thanks for the dates I had it between 1787-1840 also
so for around 200 years old I am happy how it come out considering its previous neglect

I love mother of pearl... Depending of the light, you might be able to feel you're looking inside of the sea itself.

Honest to all that's holy, Thaeris, between HarryWally and you I'm going to run out of words to describe my gut feelings about the work you both do. Just great looking razors.

Today I did a ton of work. I have a couple of things to show after heat treatment:

The big one is a monster, which has a hamon.
The 'little' one is still a 15/16 razor, made from tamahagane. It's a piece I annealed because the heat treatment was shot anyway. This also gave me full freedom in terms of grinding. The customer gave me full freedom to do what I want. I started out without a plan, choosing to let my gut feeling guide me as I went along. Due to the shape of the piece, I had some limitations and so I decided to just start and let my ideas guide me as it started to take form. I am really happy with the design. I chose for a 'samurai meets alien' type of design.

I am happy with the concept. I will be working more with this design which has still portential I think. I think I'll call it 'Azumi'. Now I just have to hope the customer lieks it too. It is pretty 'out there' in terms of design, even for me. And doing this with a piece of antique tamahagane is a bit of a risk, since I cannot replace it

They both look awesome!

And, "Azumi" is a great name, the thumb notch is superb as are the two notches on the back of the tang, looks like it would be great in the hand - amazing as always!
