The 'little' one is still a 15/16 razor, made from tamahagane. It's a piece I annealed because the heat treatment was shot anyway. This also gave me full freedom in terms of grinding. The customer gave me full freedom to do what I want. I started out without a plan, choosing to let my gut feeling guide me as I went along. Due to the shape of the piece, I had some limitations and so I decided to just start and let my ideas guide me as it started to take form. I am really happy with the design. I chose for a 'samurai meets alien' type of design.

I am happy with the concept. I will be working more with this design which has still portential I think. I think I'll call it 'Azumi'. Now I just have to hope the customer lieks it too. It is pretty 'out there' in terms of design, even for me. And doing this with a piece of antique tamahagane is a bit of a risk, since I cannot replace it

This is a Wade and Butcher near wedge. 7/8 at widest point, tapers to about 6/8 at the heel. Haven't shown much in awhile and it's a bit hard following these guys. but this is is one I have been working on and off with for a few months. Couldn't quite get the scales right, then wasn't happy with the wedge. Had a chance last tonight to do a bit and was pleased with the results.

I have it mocked up now and I think its time to finish the wedge and pin it up. I have some brass stepped washers I want to put on it that I think will go well with the streaked honey horn.

The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.

Not working on anything right now. Smashed my thumb with a hammer.

Which annoys the crap out of me, I've got 3 razors back from HT and 6 blanks to finish profiling.

I think maybe that was the wrong nail! I feel your pain, I have had to sit still while healing a time or two and like you I never have nothing to do on my schedule.

It was getting out of line, had to set an example for the others. Plus I have a spare.

I felt like being in a scale making mood so I am going to make a set of honey horn scales for this Fred Fenney I acquired quite awhile back which has some nice wood scales someone made for it but I'm not happy with wood scales on this razor so, I'm going to make these scales for it. I drew the pattern out & ground each one roughly on my belt sander & then I put them together with some carpet tape to even them out with & to drill the pin holes.
