Thanked: 2284Funny thing about that Novus plastic polish, I was going to buy some off Delvies plastics web site, but it was expensive and so was the shipping. Figured I'd keep on using my tried and true method I had been using on acrylics. Well, I was at the antique mall the other day and came upon a booth that had a lot of old plastic Coke, Pepsi, and beer coolers and other things that had been restored really well. beside them the guy was selling this plastic polish, and is what he was using on all these old plastic pieces. HA! Score! $12 CAN a bottle but worth it. Need to try it on the lathe yet.

I decided to work on this Frederick Reynolds Masonic. It had some very nice horn scales on it but one was broken & I do not have the other piece. I'll save 'em though. I have another razor with some horn scales that the blade isn't so nice, so I will swap 'em out but need to do a hot pin test to be 100% sure they are horn but I'm sure they are. The blade has a water stain on it or something. I got some of it off & it looks better than it does in the pic but you can see the stain in the pic. It also had a little rust on the toe & I was able to get it out with my fiberglass pen but you can barely see where it was. It looks a lot better in person than in the pic.

Yeah, like fiberglass insulation................. I always hated getting that crap on me! Even a hot shower wouldn't wash it off. I heard working with G-10 is the same way. I have some but when I decide to make some scales from it, I'll be wearing a long sleeve shirt & more!
