It's some form of mother of pearl that's green.

I see vintage blades with all sorts of crazy scales on them that a lot of people are all gaga about. I don't get it either but sometimes you have to look at the workmanship and not someone taste. It see a thin set of polished and neatly shaped scales on a well restored blade that is neither over polished nor left with a lot of black rust on it.
I concur!
I've found that 99.99% of EVERYTHING having to do with straight razors is PERSONAL PREFERENCE.
While the color scheme isn't what I'd 'Prefer' I find the workmanship very nice! I congratulate the owner on his workmanship! :tu
Awhile back a good friend posted some beautiful work and was trashed because of the color that he'd dyed the wood (he'd made the dye himself) and his choice of handmade washers and basically because of the 'time period'.
'Personally' I would hope that those who digress with a choice of material would refrain from posting negetive comments and instead comment on the workmanship.
But that's just 'ME'.
TrilliumLt/keep up the good work!!
Once I was bashed for making those scales (something in the lines of blasphemy), I thought they were fine especially since there were blades back then scaled in candy stripe type of scales.
