Henry Ford said, "You can buy his cars in any color you want as long as it's black."
Some of us are tired of black scales, jazz 'em up a little bit!
I suppose that as it comes to old black horn on old blades, black is prerequisite!
Love the stuff!
One of the things that surprised me was when I cleaned up a set of old black horn scales, inly to discover that they were really nice streaked scales that were dyed black. Apparently once upon a time the very lovely streaked scales were bleached and dyed to make them uniform black to suit the fashion of the day. I so prefer the multi color and streaked horn. I cannot imagine going through the effort to do such a thing.
Got two cleaned up and honed , and another started yesterday.
