Oh that could be a pointed learning curve with that spike point sir!
A beautiful finished look though. Really like how the upper tang sits right in flush with the scale profile when closed. That's nice!

They look like they were meant to be together Tom, and spikes can always be muted or rounded lightly. It already modified so stop where it's comfortable.
Mike that inlay looks sweet. Maybe some fine chisel work around the edge.
More details here but I wanted to post it here because I like the comments of this thread!

That is a very interesting design. I tend to think that it would be very light, however if what you are looking for is a simple travel brush, that doesn't cost a lot I think you are near that. I have a couple of brushes that weigh enough to be used in hand to hand combat. This one will not contribute to overweight bags.
Brilliant!

A neat design and idea indeed as far as a brush that can travel damp.

Right on!
That is just cool.... :nj
Came out really nice Tom! Looks like the scales will shine up to your liking. So to me Tom it looks like the scales are one piece from your pictures. Unlike the Zepp like the picture below where a frame would slide to lock the scales together, or use as a safety razor with the blade locked on one scale with the comb.

Yes. I think the Zepp bombed, so the Ern Jr thing came and was sold to dealers in a generic form, I suppose.

Sorry! The little forlorn Ern Jr.
