Outback--I just shaved with a Shumate Barber exactly like yours this morning. Just a quickie before a meeting but I had a great shave.

Even though I had a super shave yesterday with that Donovan I had enough neck stubble growing to wear on my dress shirt collar so I had to shave again today. The Shumate just happened to be next in my rotation for a shave and she performed great with no razor burn or nicks. Another thing I noticed with my Shumate is when I honed it last she was an easy honer and keeps an edge very well.
Working on a wedge.

Mike, I have done the same with a small skinny file. Great job though! It seems I have also done it with a hacksaw blade. I still have a couple razors that are doing that so I don't know if they may have shrunk a little. I forgot all about an air tool I have in my toolbox which is a reciprocating saw & could be done if very careful. I'll need to dig those razors out & give it a try................maybe. I'll try it on some broken scales that still have the wedge in 'em.
BTW, I tried to reply to your pm but your inbox needs cleaning. It wouldn't let me post because of that so I sent to your personal email.

Now just need to add water drop by drop. I try to put water inside tank but all my shop was wet when I turn it on incuding me also.
The grand structure.:hmmm:
THAT is a cool monster. I can see the water thing happening. Just brain fartin' here but I would say you could turn your shield a lot more in the direction the wheel goes ? In relation to where your going to be grinding does it need to be so far back ? Curious to see the speed and what grit your running. I want 1 :<0)
I understand all the negative comments. It's a tool to use safely like all other tools. But it comes down to me being in a hurry and not paying attention to what I was doing. I flipped the blade thought I was down flat and I was spinning the right way and well I had a blunder. I shared because I knew everyone has messed up. That was me saying "oh &$?@" ha ha ha. Time to starte over. I appreciate everyone who understands and the ones who don't , well they can have there opinion. I'm married, I hear it all.... The finished scales should have a new razor soon! I'll show them soon, I'm proud of theses... There thin outback! No worries.
Getting the squirrels out of my attic. This is the last one. And the second time I've had to do it in four years. Now I get to fix another hole in my eve, where they chewed their way in, and buy more insulation to replace what they destroyed.

I hate it when that happens. Then I wonder what would make a squirrel eat my eve's?? And then the wife swears she hears them for another 6 months. Then I worry they chewed on the wires.
For the next 5 years I walk around my house staring at the sky/eve's muttering. My neighbors must think me nuts. You just cant make this stuff up. Picture proves it.
They are ruthless little bastards! I've dealt with my fair share of squirrels, and if they want in, there's not much you can do to keep em out. You need to use metal or aluminium. Anything wood or plastic they go right through. I was dealing with a little red squirrel at one of our customers homes, went back 4 times to fix holes it just kept right on making. Finally I told her to either buy a pellet gun and a lawn chair, or call pest control. Never heard back.... thank god.
Its even worse if you board up the hole, and there's still one in there.
Cause then they chew the livin s#!t out of everything trying to find another way out. Been there, done that. Arrrrrg!!!
Oh.... Yeah, the wiring. Gotta check that too. Id eat the little sucker, but he probably tastes like owens corning fiberglass. Eat enough of that working on boats. [emoji13]
Hey as it's been said; If Life Gives You Lemons Make Lemonade.

Hahahahahahaha! That's great Roy!!
I wonder if it's the same squirrel coming back for more rides?
Maybe squirrel stew, like the back to nature folks seem to make all the time on TV?
Man, I finally plugged-in 2 of those little mouse-be-gone electronic repellents up there on extension cords from the bulb socket.
Little bastards took leave and stayed out.
Give him a shave and then toss him out in the cold.:rofl2:
Great vid, thanks Roy .
I need a bigger basket up here for the raccoons hell bent on returning to their birthing lair in my attic.
4 years ago 5 were born up there before I figured out how they got in. My kids wouldn't let me spontaneously evict them, dead of winter ya know. So in the spring they were evicted humanely but for the last three years they keep coming back every fall trying to peel back the flashing to their original entry point.
I've made it 18 gauge now but man they are persistent critters..
Canada here. I only get to use my buckshot on birdies..
Hell, if I live trap em I can only relocate them a maximum half a mile or I get arrested for being inhumane and taking them out of their ecosystem or some such bollax.
"Just need the nieghbor to quit feedin the damn things."
Mike, sounds like you need to get a neighbor catapult!
I had a family of raccoons in my attic 2 winters ago but once spring got here, they moved out! I did get one of 'em though, damn squatters!
Well.. Seems nobudy is working on anything?
I have a Koch and Shafer and a T.H. Steinbaur, both 13/16ths, cleaned-up and the tangs/spines/tips done with super-blue.
No oil yet, tomorrow they get silver rub n buff in the stamps.
Daffy needs some thin friends! :D
