Really like the razor work going on here fella's. Makes me itch to get back to some steel projects that have been on the bench all summer.
Keep up the fine restorations!

Ya'll have inspired me. At this particular moment it's in a little different direction, but related. Kinda. Sorta.
I took a piece off of an antler, sanded it to 6000, scrimshawed, colored, & CA'd it. Lots of sanding & CA. I'm also doing some antler scales for a Genco DeRoma, but they got put on the backburner for this; a slightly late birthday/Christmas present for my oldest daughter. I don't post much, but I read A LOT. You guys have lots of great ideas & info. Thanks for making this possible.Attachment 253392
Not quite a razor but still a lot of fun. A friend of mine bought this knife at a flea market and I offered to regrind it for him. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...dc241bd6c3.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...c3f6a5979b.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...a254f271e0.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...92d4b668e6.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...84454f0b21.jpg

So Aaron, did you blacken the grooves on that regrind? With what? I'm always curious what everyone else is using.
I do not have a tailless French razor in my collection, all in good time. She is a cutie.
For Anyone wanting some Acrylic or Wood Blanks; Woodturningz is having a 10% across the board sale, here's the link:
2017 HNY Sale Summary - Woodturningz
The Promo Code is: HYN2017
Remember for a very small fee they will cut the 1.5"X1.5" Inlace Acrylic into 1/8"+ pieces for us.
I wish I did not have such a very large existing inventory of scale making stuff. I will start to have more stuff management issues if I go down that rabbit hole too. I do appreciate the link though.
The wife used this the other day and complained it wasn't sharp enough. So I fihmgured if im gonna sharpen it I might as well clean it.

I didnt do much to the blade as I quite like the used look.
A wee bit of background. If I remember correctly my old man found this in the attic of thier house when they moved in around a decade ago. He then gave it to me a number of years agao and it has sat in a drawer since. With the odd outing when I'm out hillwalking.
It's actually not legal to EDC here hence only when hill walking, in case I need something sturdier than a 3 inch folder.
This knife looks as though it was well used, and to an extent abused. There is a small gouge in the scales and they look properly worn. Also the blade has some deep scratching. It's definitely seen some work.
So I decided I would keep the look but just clean it up. It's still good and functional and hopefully I'll get plenty of years of use from it.
