Oh yeah. Rest assured, it ain't fun in a bass boat as it gets rough. I have run mine aground and ran for the wood a couple of times and the hail is coming down. Waves and wind are up. Unpredictable on the water, as you well-know.

40 miles an hour. It is the slogan of the rigid hull inflatable operators school on the west coast of Vancouver Island. It was a great time. Part of my job is to run a Zodiac Hurricane 753. It is a lot of fun in moderate seas, a lot of work in heavy seas, but does required some practice to not break stuff including the occupants.

Ill have to breadknife it. There are quite a few small chips in the bevel.. no deeper then the bevel itself though. Ive been using the 100k carborundum oilstone i got a few weeks back for this. Should make short work of it.

Im really wondering if these were original scales. Im thinking no. They are also pinned tighter then any razor ive ever opened.

Might put some custom scales on if it hones up nice.

Cleaned up a Solingen made Garantie #25, 5/8ths. With a unusual barbers notch.
Had to take it to the 600 greaseless, then 600 greaseless with WD 40, to emery w/ WD 40, to scotchbrite wheel on dremmel with cr/ox, to cr/ox on felt wheel. Some one tried cleaning it up with a brick I believe. Sorry no before pics, they were on my other phone that went thru the washer. But I do have one, but you can't see how bad it was.

Bottom razor

The scales are wood, and didn't match each other. So I made them even in shape and thickness, and put one of many to come coats of tru-oil on them.
Not sure what type of wood they are, but very tight grain, strong, and dark in color. They were painted black, as seen in pic. Here's the blade after the work done.

Making some Box Elder Burl scales for this 7/8 EKS Gold Krone. Have dad this blade for a while and thought it was time to get it shaving.

An oil called Tried and True Varnish oil. These blanks I had stabilized a while back so they're nice a hard. We'll see how this oil works on stabilized wood.

That is going to look nice once done. I like the look of alot of burls undyed and unfinished. Just sanded to high grit and buffed.

Got it pinned and the bevel set last night. Just need to run through the rest of the hones now.

Man those look nice.

I could have maybe spent a little more time on the blade and removed some pitting, but I didn't want to lose the etch on the blade face. It's already very faint. To bad about this blade, it appears to have never been honed, but had major rust issues. I snatched it from eBay cause I could tell it was big and had the nice thumb notch. Other than the pitting, it should be a good shaver.
