Looks like you got it cleaned up very nicely.
U think you'll enjoy the shave with a W&B
Send me the scales, Dave. I'll flatten them back out. Ya gotta keep um as original as possible, buddy. I've done a bunch like those now.

What would be the best way to stop these cracks in the wood scales from going any farther?

This is a Wade & Butcher for Gentlemans Use I also took off of Addison's hands yesterday.
To be honest the small cracks are the only thing out of sorts with this razor
Those scales can be saved, if you unpin them, use ca in the split , then run a few coats over the entire scale. Then sand most of it away again. Solid skin once more..
Congrats and good luck..
Thanks Mike!!
Well after tomorrows shave I'll get them apart and proceed with the fix.
You guys are just awesome!!!!
Good luck, save or find some stacked washers as close to the originals as you can.
I still struggle saving pins. I find filing the head flat, then center punching and drilling on the press freehand gives me the most success. .
Spread the crack at the pin site gently when you apply the ca as well, make sure it runs full crack on the first coat.
Nice to see gents meeting up in person.
Been a nice influx of WBs of late.
Awesome to see. Been working on shop upgrades these last few days myself. Trying to add equipment where I have no space. Always fun.
Cheers.
Thanks, I have some stacked washers, and pins. So I think I am good there.
I appreciate the how to as well. I was thinking that was the way to go, but then wondered if that was right. Saved me a PM to you :D
Would you suggest medium ca? I have thin, medium and heavy.
Yeah Addison is a good guy, we have a good time when we meet up.
He also knows I'm a W&B fan boy :rofl2:
Can't wait to see what you get done in the shop, you sir do some very amazing work
