Personal preference i guess. I like the simplicity of it. It seemed to look good to me as I was working on it. Something about the script on the razor and simple look of the scale and spacer. I've done a bunch of wedges and this on just looked nice the way it was.

I wondered the same thing but I understand. Personal preference. If it makes you happy, that is all that counts. It's a very nice piece!

I think because true wedges are not easy to make, and get the geometry correct,same with uber thick scales.
Just makes things easier for those that are doing restos for themselves.
They may not be traditional,they may look a tad funny to the purists,but they will work.

Am going to make a plaster Mold when time allows and cast some wedges out of Cerrobend,should be easy to do.

I never heard of it so I just looked it up & it seems to be a good alloy to use:

I do too. It has a 158 degree F melting point so it should be better than lead & possibly polish up a lot better too.

Have cast a number of small things with it,just put some in a tuna can and set in boiling water.

Managed to salvage the old wedge/spacer.

I have some more wooden handled brushes in varying stages of refurbishing. Will post photos when done.
