Great work prodigy, those look amazing

I got this IC Vincent a while back. I restored the blade and gave the scales a neatsfoot soak with the wedge still attached. The oil soaked into the bone wedge and gave it a really nasty color. I though about using a different wedge material, but it felt wrong to put anything but bone on this old Frenchy. This project has been on the back burner for a while, but I finally got around to ordering some bone blanks. The scales still need polishing and I've got to dig around for some suitable collars(old ones were kind of smashed up). I think this blade is absolutely beautiful and I'm pretty excited to get this one done. I should be able to get her finished today.

Bejay, that is one sexy blade on that razor love the shape, the heel makes the whole razor.

Nice cutting boards! It is pretty common around here that at your wedding you would have gifts for many of the people. Give aways are pretty common when you host an event too.

That is a great razor. Bone wedges are pretty nice on horn scales. I have been doing dark horn wedges on bone scales lately, I appreciate the contrast.

Typically I use 9-11 coats of Tru oil.
Lightly sanding with steel wool between coats. After the final coat, I let them sit for two days before steel wooling it all smooth, and polishing it out with Howards restore a shine.

These collars were purchased from an eBay seller. They stamped the same way the old ones were and there almost a perfect match for the originals on the IC Vincent. As you can see on the left collar in the first pic, they often have a little lip at the bottom. I like to put them on a micro fastener attached to a drill and spin them against some 220 grit sandpaper. The collar on the right has already been done. These little details make all the difference.

No doubt, the small details make it all come together nicely.

Thanks for the pointers @outback. That wood finishing compound might be a nice addition to my cemical cabinet that seems to be growing a lot sense i started working on razors. Just put another coat on. I do have some syn. Steelwool so i might give that a go in the morning. Keeps from taking away too many layers when sanding with the w&d paper.
