I like the bubinga Mike! Hmmm... looks familiar ;) Nice shape for the Packwood, not too banana-ed.
While I was working in the garage the little engraver was working on my first design from scratch.

Used some left over urethane from the batch of red I did and pulled a couple of images off the Internet and tried to lay one over the other, then engrave that merged image into the urethane.

Looks like a bunch of fuzz, maybe I had my rpm too high? Peel away gently.

It's a replacement center bezel for my car gear shift knob. The original one broke off years ago and the empty spots bugged me for years as I shift.
All in all, not bad first render, but not tight enough lines per inch, and I think I need to go deeper to ensure the image sets into the material. Luckily I have a fair bit of material to play with.
Giving me a chance to learn the required nuances to engrave at high resolution of detail from photographs. And I won't break a tip (again) if my speeds too high in any one direction..hehe.

It WAS a 'Lightning' from about '62. All original. NOW she wants to change it and eat her cake at the same time!

You could talk her into one of these:
10 HP Briggs & Stratton Go Kart Mini Bike Racing Engine
Don't let my brother see that or he will want to put it on my wood chipper.
Oh NO! It must be original! Attachment 260719
Just like razors....It's only original once!
