I have a soft spot for lost causes but this one looks pretty tough. Someone ground the hump off the tang -- you can barely see the 'R' from Wade & Butcher, and you can kind of make out the end of the arrow and the Maltese cross under 'Sheffield'...

Maybe we should have a 'bring out your dead' day, where we all show the most horrendously rusty razors we've picked up thinking that maybe, just maybe we could bring them back.

We changed the name from Butchered Wade and Butcher to just, "The Butchered Blade", as the original name was causing me night terrors and trauma, it was incredible triggering to see that name constantly popping up in my mailbox....:rofl2:

I've been working on this Heinisch & Co. that I found locally at an antiques store last summer. I started a thread on it at that time and found out some pretty cool info on it from some good folks around here. I will put the rest of the finished pics in that thread just to keep it cohesive but here is some of the work along the way.

Making new scales. I decided not to try to repair the old scales, and I wanted see through honey horn to show the shape of the blade and tang stamps.
