He obviously used 2 teeny tiny pens and an itsy bitsy straight edge :<0) But if it's a digital microscope that hooks to a pc, I want one.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

[QUOTE=MJC;1434347]On a separate note - though you are new to shaving you seem to be an expert at micro photography - could you tell us how you did this?
    Very well done!

Thank you, while I am new to SR's i am not new to sharp edges, as a hobby i have been sharpening knives for many years. In an effort to ensure i was getting the finest edge possible I purchased a cheap magnifying lens to ensure i had no micro-groving or chipping on the knife edge which if not caused by use can be commonly caused by abrasives in the sharpening process. I found that the magnifying lens was not quite good enough for what i needed so I upgraded to a digital microscope. They are not all that expensive but give amazing results as you can see and as a bonus you can photograph the results.

Thanks, but we want details, model numbers, links, what OS you are working with...
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to be able to do this...

I just had a quick look on ebay 40-80 X ones are about $21. No idea on the quality though. I think my daughter would have a lot of fun with one of them.

This reminds me of years ago, when I was doing a construction project on the ramp at DFW airport.
And we all had to go through the Ramp Safety training so that we would not damage a plane getting sucked in to the engine, or something like that.
What stuck with me was the line from the Maintenance Director:

"There is no such thing...as a minor ding...on an airplane..."

The same can be said for the edge of a Straight Razor...

Here is the one I bought:

Amazon.com: NEEWER® Portable 25X-600X 8LED 1.3M Pixel CMOS USB Digital Microscope with Base Stand: Industrial & Scientific

And there is the detail it will capture. It has 600x magnification, but I don't think it is anywhere near that. Cheap, works ok, but I would not recommend it. One plus though, the 8 LED lights are adjustable for intesity. Very helpful when examining a shiny piece of metal....
