I did a little work to the blade yesterday but I'm going to take my time plus read more on it. First time using greaseless compounds.
Keeping the lines sharp like that is tough with hand sanding. I use a block or a stiff sanding sponge for that sometimes.

Don't you be experimenting on that razor with compounds, Steve. Go with a rusty old junker first.
I bought all those compounds a long time ago, but after a while, I use very little of them and mostly the 600 on small felt wheels for problem spots , spines and tangs and even then, like to 'wear' the newly loaded buff on the vise to smooth it out.
Many a blade has been ruined using compounds. Ain't hard to do.

    Thanks Tom
I have gone very lightly so I haven't done anything to screw it up. I have given it some thought & might do hand sanding on it.

On oldies, I mostly hand rub them with a scrap of 800 crocus cloth with WD40 and some CroOx powder.
No sense in making a polished turd out of that true classic antique. Less is best, Steve!

Sorry guys, I bailed on my scales tonight.[emoji17]

But after pouring down rain Sunday, the temps. went from low 60s at night & low to mid 70s in the day. To 89° today, and extremely humid..

Its still hot & muggy, tropical like.
Couldn't handle being in the man cave/shop, but for a few moment's,
    even with the fan going.

Yes, something is in the air. Still gonna be disappointments as to doing outdoor stuff here. Too hot and humid still.

Hard azz steel I must say. After all that rework on the smile it was like honing a steel plate to start and I still have a slight flat at the heel but it's where the stab met the blade originally so I am ok with it I think. Shave will tell all.
    Cheers gents.
