Morning gents. Packin up to head home today. Last bit of fishing and boat action before I leave. See some progress on a few projects. Keep at it!
Never tried the hot oil personally. I read about it on an Arabian horn suppliers site and thought it made sense and would try it when I had my hot plate working in the shop.
The ziplock and weighted nuts idea might keep the scales in the oil. I was going to go shallow in a double boiler to keep the heat gentler against the bottom of the pan. Mineral oil is what I will try when I get to it.
    Cheers gents.

    I won the tournament!,
My non boater( guy in back of my boat) caught the biggest bass of the nite.

No big payout, but enough to buy a couple antique store razors.
I've won every tournament on this lake ( 2 every year) since 2006, except 1, with a spinner bait, that i make.

Caught a dozen small mouth and one big azz ugly pickerel.
Was a cloudy week with a fair bit of rain off and on so the fish had lots to eat.
Will be better fishing in Sept 😀
Congrats on the big catch in your boat Mike!
Going to hit a few antique barns on the way home so who knows, might still catch something else yet!!

I used to go fishing at a certain time for white bass with a friend & we were tearin' it up while others weren't catching a thing. They kept trying to come see what we were using for bait but we wouldn't let them get close enough or we would close our tackle boxes when they would make it to us. We were using rooster tails artificial spinning bait.
