Yes, but it is the refinement of the edge before the polishing grits that I meant, should have clarified. I have seen several pics of magnified edges that are supposed to be finished, but are still relatively ragged. When stropping by hand with chromium oxide, it will take a lot of work to match what the Tormek will do in a few passes, and maybe not everyone is doing that, nor spending quite enough time on the previous stone. For my EDCs, sometimes I go from 20 per side on 8K King, then 50+ per side on CrO loaded strop, but I think there is a greater worry of rounding the edge of a razor with that many passes on leather (my leather is also glued to a block). Without a way to fix my honing angle, there is about a 4-6 degree convexity to my edges.
