shaved with the LM last night very smooth shave that stone provides alot of comfort. i would guesstimate the grit at 12+ and thats going off the sharpness. so it is some where inbetween 12k to 15k but its closer to the 12k end then the 15k

yes your right rene oil would give a little more and stropping. i was shaving straight off the stone. so in my opinion the stone was worth every penny

I agree it was well worth it. I looked at the edge under a loop and i was hard pressed to find scratches on the bevel. Very few

so all in all we haven't used the stone to its fullest potential after i put my two DT head to head i'm going to come off my sgs16k to the LM

Thanked: 48have you guys lapped your stones? if so what did you use, mine was lapped on what looks like 80 grit paper , after working it over with the dmt and slurrying it up a few times it looks and feels like gray silk when dry and although i havent tryed it on a freshly honed razor i did do 50 or so laps on one that was starting to pull with wonderfull results
