I did my LM test shave (50 laps plain water, no stropping)
By far the best so far!!! I get razor burn easily from un-stropped blades and this was the first test run I could do an ATG pass on. I used Bay Rum aftershave with no sting or burn.
I'm very happy with the LM right now!

I just did my LM test shave also. It was not as big of a jump from the 8k to the DT but there was a very nice difference. Smooth shave, VERY sharp and definitily one of my best shave for closeness. Its up there with the best of blades. I think it is sharper than when i use my Naniwas and 3,5,8,12 then shapton 16k. Only a tiny bit of iritation but as Rob mentioned that could be due to not stropping.

Once Craig has test shaved off the LM how about we try the next test. We hone in our usual way. No need to count just move to the next stone when you feel it is ready. I think i will use the Naniwas for the lower grit. Then shave off the LM stone again . What do you think?

What do you guys estimate the grit of the DT and the LM?

The DT and LM from the Ebay UK site: The DT somewhere above 8k (water only) as it improved the Norton 8K edge, the LM (water only) above the DT as it improved the DT edge. Maybe the other two will have a better estimate than me.

Personally and only using these on one razor so far, I'm liking the LM beter than my C12K.
