Probably used the silver solder to make the tang thicker and with parallel sides so it would pivot like the jackknife they've turned it into (notice the spring protruding below the tang). Also note the smile is greatly reduced and is nowhere near matching the curve of the spine. Fuglissimo.

I got him down to 300 lol. Better than his original 1000 price tag. Still about 10x higher than my best offer....

I had wondered What The Hell Is That but now that you mention it, I do believe that you are correct/see in Blue:

I do hope you've only been 'bargining' and the seller can't hold you to the offer.

With that said I almost offered him $1.00 but thought better of it.

For the right price I'd take it, but he thinks he has a gold bar haha

How are you supposed to hold onto it to shave?

Way, way back in the day, there wasn't much of a tail to hold onto either:

I still don't know what to think of it. Sadness is about my only emotion.

I must admit, I don't mind using a cartridge occasionally when I'm travelling, but I can't understand how the 6th blade will help if the first 5 haven't shaved the hair.
The 6th blade would rip the hair out. One fellow told me the alloy used in those things has aluminum in the sercet forum thats why you need more blades cause it uses the idea of ripping the hairs out. don't know if that true but it common for people who use them heavy to get ingrown hairs.
