I saw one in an antique shop in similar condition, 2 massive chips in the blade with faux tortoise shell scales... $38, I just laughed. I think the guy knew it was never going to sell.
Someone probably just wanted those scales. It's been mentioned before that scales collectors pay a lot of money for certain ones. I don't see anything special, but I'm not a scales collector.

WOW, that's terrible! I don't know whether to feel bad for the buyer or to blame him for not doing his homework!

His homework was done, he got it for the scales, like Prodigy state above.

Certain patterns of scale of that style are exceedingly rare in good condition -particularly with the coloring intact. Not my thing, but the people who want them don't care if the blade is trashed

Multi-colored Arkansas stone looks more like a coticule. In the questions sections someone even tells the seller the stone is a coticlue. Can the title of a listing not be changed?

Yes, a title can be changed until a certain amount of time before it ends.

And @Martin, thanks, I missed that part above about the scales in my last post.

I've had to revise a title before. I just sent the seller message & told him/her that they should be able to revise the title on the Cuticle.

I think it is something like 12 hrs before an item mens certain things can be revised unless they have changed it.

EDIT: Well, it seems eBay has changed things around again. The seller wrote back & said they tried but it wouldn't let them. It just goes to show that you must check your listing first or make sure you know what you are listing. I have had things happen to me before & gone back & changed them. Oh well........
I hope it works out for them.

Very interesting tintin. I'm wondering what their reply will be, if he/she replies! I looked at their other items & found this fishing lure they want $15,000 BIN or starting bid is $4,500! Now I wonder how they came up with that figure?
