I had one and sold it years ago. IME any Boker from that period is a good shaver. I still have a Red Injun 101 and a couple of other odds and ends Bokers from back then.

They made a lot of that model 1056 I think, so you'll get a good one eventually if you keep looking.

Just don't talk about them on the forum until you do ........ or you'll get other guys interested and you'll be competing with them.

    Wow, that's too bad Willis.

I'm having my own woes with Ebay right now. Accidentally hit the buy it now button, seller wouldn't ship to Canada but sends me an email on the side saying if I go to their website, they can do it for less. In the meantime, they've retracted their sale listing on Ebay.ca and it's now only on Ebay.de but keep sending me demands to send them payment directly to their bank account, no Ebay involved. I reported it to Ebay and they say it's because I'm not registered with the German Ebay and need to go there and create an account?!?!?!

Anyway, this wasn't about me and my problems, but rather yours. I've got one of those Boker 1056s here... It had a very sad frown, but I knew that when I bought it years ago. I've tweaked the blade and it just needs some honing to get it shaving again... It's pretty tarnished, but I don't know if I'll bother restoring it past shaving condition....

I hope it all sorts itself out and that you get yourself another Boker in great shape. It sure seems like it should be a great razor.

    Regards

    Christian

Wow Christian...... Only way I pay people online is through PAYPAL. I thought once you have an eBay account, it's good for all of them? Weird. If your "Spidey sense" is going nuts about this deal going "south".... Then back away from it. This clown shouldn't be pestering you for payment. I would have done like you said and reported them. It is against eBay policy to do what they did. If this is an eBay transaction.... so do it on eBay. I don't see why you have make a new account. There are other people on here who have bought items from the other eBays. Maybe they will chime in later.

I'm "hell bent" on getting one these 1056 Bokers...... Maybe the 3rd one is the charm?

All will get sorted out and good luck on your eBay adventure too!

Hmm. that's a generous way to put it.

If you open a case for "not as described" he will have to send you a return shipping label at his expense or a refund. This should cost you nothing.

Yeah, I said that before I saw the photo in the listing showing the chip out of the blade. In that case, it is not the seller's error. I've done the same thing, not looking at the photos as carefully as I should have, ended up with something less than what I wanted.

I guess I have to modify my response. What did his description say? If the crack wasn't mentioned, I would have a problem with the seller.

Willisf I would not even consider doing business with this seller away from ebay. As you have been told stick to the rules and keep ebay in the mix. To do otherwise and get caught can get you disciplined by ebay.
No reason to feel sorry for the seller. You eboy picture of the crack leaves no question as to what it is.
